Use case

They already own the piece.
Elara sells them the rest.

“What works with this?” is the most common unsaid question in fashion ecommerce. A shopper owns a kurta they love, a blazer they just bought, a pair of heels they can’t style. Elara takes what they have and builds what’s missing, from your catalog.

The business case

Shoppers who already own something from you are your highest-LTV customers. Elara finds them.

A returning shopper who brings a piece they already own to an Elara conversation is signaling deep brand affinity. They like what they bought. They want more of it. They’re the most likely segment to convert, to buy multiple items, and to return again. Elara turns that signal into a multi-item sale.

The shopper describes what they own

“I have a cobalt linen kurta I bought last month. What works with it?” They can type a description. Elara identifies the piece by color, silhouette, and category.

Elara builds around it

Elara treats the owned piece as the anchor. It reasons about what completes the look, what works with that color, that aesthetic, that formality register, and selects complementary pieces from your catalog.

The completion outfit

Elara presents two or three pieces that complete the look, each with a rationale for why it works with the owned piece. The shopper doesn’t have to do the styling work. The multi-item purchase follows.

Questions, answered.

How does Elara know what the shopper already owns?

The shopper tells it. They describe the piece in natural language. The Style Graph also builds a record of purchases from your store, so returning shoppers can simply ask Elara to style the kurta they bought last month.

Does this work if the shopper bought the anchor piece from a different brand?

Yes. A shopper can describe any piece they own, not just pieces purchased from your store, and Elara will build a completion outfit from your catalog around it.

Can Elara recommend pieces from other brands to complete an outfit?

No. Elara only surfaces products from your catalog. If your catalog doesn't have something that perfectly completes the outfit, Elara presents the best options available and may note that a specific item type is missing.

What if the piece the shopper owns doesn't pair well with anything in my catalog?

Elara is honest. If the combination isn't strong, it will say so and present the closest available options with a note about why the pairing isn't ideal.
